Should I stay or should I go?

Hello, Lovelies!

My, has it been a hot minute. I’m contemplating on whether or not to continue with my blog. I’ve been so inconsistent and life got in the way. Not for the best reasons, but I am working on improving it. I landed a Full-Time job with a reputable company and I can actually afford to purchase more products to review soon! Only thing is, I lack the drive and haven’t been pushing out content for my readers and visitors to enjoy. For that, I do apologize. I’m going to give myself t’il the end of the year to decide what I’m going to do with this blog and if I disappear–you know what happened. I hope you’ve all been well and that you excuse my little bit of a venting post. Happy Holidays and all the greetings you’re supposed to do during a season.

Review: Milani Stay Put Matte Liquid Liner (17HR WEAR)

Hello, Lovelies!

I’m going to be reviewing Milani’s Stay Put Matte Eyeliner in the shade: Black Matte. This product was a gift from my bestest friend in the entire universe and I’m so excited to share how magical it is with you all! Also, I’m going to try not adding a featured image. I think once is fine. (WARNING: Prolly TL;DR material)

So…. I was always a loyal fan of NYC’s showtime liquid liner in the shade: 887 (Black). You can see my review on it here. It was the first liner that I tried when I started experimenting with the idea of make-up back in 2015. I was 19 years old, I fell in love with the liner and since then have been wearing make-up thanks to it and my favorite lipstick. Once more, you can see my review on that.. Oh, wait. Never reviewed it. My bad, scratch that. Anyway, my precious baby got discontinued about a year or two ago without my knowledge. When I finally went to see what was up, I cried. Why? Because everything else I’ve ever tried was.. Crap. Straight up. Just when all hope was lost, my best friend got me this liner because I wanted to try it out. And I was unable to purchase it due to me living in the middle of nowhere, man. It’s also the same brand as my lipstick, so I was more into the idea. The packaging is cute. It’s matte. I spent a solid 2 minutes just letting myself be amazed by the feel. I opened it and discovered that it had a felt tip applicator. I swatched it on the back of my hand and it felt softer and applied sharper than any other one I’d tried. It dried down fast and the pigment was bomb.  I did a smudge test and there was no sign of flakiness or wear. Speaking of wear, it claims to be a 17HR wear liner. The longest I’d ever had it on for was about 15, so I definitely-definitely believe in that claim. The color and finish are pretty self-explanatory. Black. Matte. There’s no acrylic scent like some liquid liners that I’ve tried. Fragrance-free is such a bonus since I have sensitive eyes. All in all, I love it and since there’s not much else to say, I’ll go ahead and leave the description from the site down below for your reference.

For eyes that turn heads, you need this quick-drying liquid-to-matte liner that delivers full color for up to 17 hours. An ultra thin felt tip applicator lets you create natural to bold looks with ease and controlled precision—in one single step. No need for constant mirror-checks—this formula is humidity and sweat-resistant. Choose from four richly pigmented matte shades. Shake well before using. Remove with an oil-based eye makeup remover.

I suppose I should’ve put it under the photo, but it’s too late to turn back now. I hope you enjoyed my review and would love to see you around more often! If you’re ever in a mood for amusement, you are welcome to give my other posts a look-see. Is it lame that I laugh at my own writing? Maybe. But, that’s okay. Until next time!

Happy One Year, Rinaissance Unicorn!

Hello, everyone! I just wanted to pop in and write this for you all real quick. So, today is my one year anniversary and I’ve got to say.. I couldn’t have done it without my readers/fellow bloggers. I haven’t been as active as I’d have hoped to be, but that’s on me. As I’ve stated in my previous post, I thank those of you who have continued to visit my site over the months. It means a whole lot and lets me know that I really should keep going, even if I tend to disappear more often than I’d like. Truth be told, I’ve thought about deleting my blog. When I came online to do so, I saw that my page receives views frequently and I had a change of heart. I’ve got a new liner to review and I’m really excited to share it with you all. And that concludes my first anniversary post. Doesn’t seem like much, but please know the intention is there. I’ll be back with that review soon!

Review- Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash

Hello, Lovelies!

Judging by the title, you must be thinking: “Is she seriously going to review a body wash?!” Maybe, I’m overreacting. Either way, yes. Dove. Body wash. Give our lives moisture! I purchased this product with my own money. Image is sourced, as always when I’m not the photographer. With all that out of the way, let’s get started!

I’m sure you know that this does come in different sizes, but I decided to be dramatic and spoil myself. Then again, I never really got the little ones. Anywaaaay, it’s one of my favorites. The consistency is thick, yet it lathers like a dream. The scent is fresh. Best I can do to describe it, sorry. It claims to give you softer skin after one shower. It isn’t lying. Mm-mm. I don’t even have dry skin and it still did a little somethin’-somethin’ for me. My favorite thing about this, is that a little goes a long way. Either that, or I am just short. One thing I will say, is that it can be a task to rinse off if it isn’t lathered up enough. Better than having a bunch of useless bubbles, though, right? Okay, so.. I didn’t have that much to say about this body wash, yet it’s been in my drafts for months. Not as complicated to write a review about than most products. I thought it would be a bit longer, my bad. Gist is, it gets the job done and makes you softer. All that matters! Once again, I apologize for being away and longer this time around. Thank you to those who remained loyal and still view my site. I really appreciate it. I will try to be back soon. Oh! I’ve also used the cucumber & green tea and am currently using the sensitive skin version of this, so I’ll be sure to review those in the future. Hope to see you all then!

Review-Freeman Renewing Cucumber Peel-Off Gel Mask

Hello, Lovelies!

I’m going to be reviewing Freeman’s cucumber peel-off mask. Before I begin, I want to let you know that there are sample packs available in some stores for those who aren’t sure if they want to commit just yet. Let’s get started!

This was the first Freeman product that I’ve ever tried. I’ve been in love with it for about 6 years I want to say. I feel like this was one of those curious buys gone right. It’s a translucent green gel with the scent of, well.. Cucumber. And aloe. It dries pretty clear. I used this about 2-3 times a week. It’s simple, yet effective. After my first use, my skin was silky and refreshed. After my first tube, my skin was amazing-er than the first use. (Duh) I didn’t even think it could look that nice. It’s great for a subtle glow, calming redness, and removing impurities. It also soothes and moisturizes. Which doesn’t mean you should skip that step in your routine, it’s still important. This mask is best for normal to combination skin. I should point out: It’s not, by any means, a miraculous overnight product. Then again, what is? Like all the finer things in life.. It takes time. I suggest putting a medium to thick layer onto your face. In order to avoid a complete disaster, allow enough time for this mask to dry. You don’t want to deal with the insane amount of stickiness and possibly ruining the chance at achieving that maximum effect. Not to be a captain obvious, but avoid your hair and eyebrows. Believe me, they can be removed more easily than you think. I am, unfortunately, living proof. I mean, I’m okay now. My hair and brows grew back. Thank you for your concern. Learn from my mistakes. Now go on. Glow! (Results may vary)

Whew! I’m so glad I got all that off my chest. I feel loads better now. Anyway, I appreciate you stopping by today and hope you visit again soon!

Review-TRESemmé Botanique (Nourish & Replenish)

Hello, Lovelies!

I just wanted to do a quick review on TRESemmé’s new Botanique shampoo and conditioner: Botanique Nourish & Replenish. These products were not sent to me.

I want to talk about how cute and shimmery the green is on the packaging. I think that was the initial attraction when I first spotted these. The scent is amazing. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t like coconuts! The aloe vera and coconut milk mix was definitely a smart move. Not only do the scents complement each other.. The effects do, as well. I have kinky curls and this feels so good in my hair! The first time I used the products, I noticed that my hair was so silky and I didn’t experience any frizz. My hair stayed wet longer than it usually does after a shower. I suppose the reason was mostly from some mild heat damage. Sorry, if you don’t know what I mean. Just know that it’s pretty terrible. By the 5th use, my hair was shiny and healthy. It says there are no dyes, no parabens and that it’s silicone-free. Many pros, right on the front. One con I can think of, is how tough it is to squeeze out of the bottle. It’s fine that it’s a thicker formula, but sometimes a girl doesn’t got all day. Aside from that, I would definitely repurchase this line and I do recommend it!

I hope you enjoyed this review and that it helped you make the right decision. Feel free to check out some of my other posts.. if you want. Have a lovely evening!

Review-Clearasil Ultra Acne + Marks Wash & Mask

Hi, Lovelies!

Today’s review is pretty exciting. I’ve been a fan of this wash & mask for a long time now and I finally got it back in my possession and am able to let you know all about it. Image/Opinions are mine. I purchased this product on my own. Let’s get started!

28536703_173958236570003_629552762_n

First off, it’s a pale blue green color. The scent is fresh and not chemical-like at all. I love washing my face with this last because it’s more appealing to my nose. The packaging is so cute and convenient. I have a thing for tubes. (Totally not creepy sounding at all) I rotate my days/nights of using this as a mask and as a wash. My acne marks that I rarely, but do sometimes encounter–are reduced within a week or two.  Noticeable after the first few uses. Not overnight magic, but worth the effort. Of course, it depends on how intense your acne is, but this does work. When I feel a pimple coming, I use this before I sleep. When I get up in the morning, the pain is gone and I use it again to ensure it’ll keep shrinking. Please bear in mind that this is a “wash” and not a “scrub”, so there are no beads or crushed shells in it. Squeeze gently, to avoid mess and waste. Made that mistake a time or ten. And that’s about it!

I hope you liked this review and check back for another, real soon! I have been neglecting my blog and I do apologize again. I will do my absolute best to make March a better blogging month. Until then! XOXO
